Den of Wolves

30th August - Nottingham - Motorpoint Arena

Game themes: Sci-Fi / Survival

Gameplay: Negotiation / Resource-allocation / Teams / Traitors / Combat

Hunted by a relentless foe through space, tensions are rising in the battered survivor fleet - whilst you suffer attacks from enemy spaceships, you can't help shake the feeling other enemies may already be onboard the survivor fleet's vessels!

In this run of the popular sci-fi megagame, the Survivor Fleet was beset by coups, counter-coups, and cannibalism… and that’s without any sabotage from the Wolf agents lurking in the shadows.

Scientific boldness led to some useful technology really helping the fleet’s resource issues, whilst the press did an upstanding job of bringing truthful and unbiased news to keep everyone informed - exactly what was needed to help fight paranoia and suspicion, although there was a healthy dose of that around too.

In the end a mostly intact fleet (sorry Star Alpha) shot off into the void, although there were four presidents on the last turn. Maybe it wouldn’t be that harmonious after all…

Player testimony from this run of Den of Wolves:

“The roleplaying aspect. I loved the council meetings, and liked that it felt like almost a separate game that was having effects on the larger game.”

“It was a great story. Amazing energy and cracking developments throughout. Really enjoyed it.”

“Component quality was very impressive. Sci-Fi theme was really cool. Some great player choices and interesting sneaky plans.”
