Urban Nightmare: State of Chaos
17th May - Nottingham (Motorpoint Arena)
Game themes: Modern Disaster Response/ Zombie Apocalypse
Gameplay: Team-based / Resource Allocation / Chain of Command / Modern Society Structures / Emergency Services / Military / Press / Crisis Communications / Political
If you're in charge, how would you respond to the zombie apocalypse?
That's what happened in Urban Nightmare - players were senior figures in a fictional US state when the unthinkable happens. So what did they do next? Call out the National Guard, quarantine anywhere they think was infected, accuse political rivals of corruption and then hope they get munched on by the groaning hordes?
Players took on roles like heads of emergency services, military leaders, and political figures such as mayors, along with a megacorporation and the press.
Some cities were overrun whilst others managed to contain the threat, but not before toxic chemical spills, rogue militia making an armoured fire truck, and an attempted political assassination via airstrike!

Player testimony from this run of Urban Nightmare:
“I really enjoyed the hectic flow of the game. The resource management and inter-department politics really brought the game to to life… the organisers/adjudicators were incredibly friendly and helpful.”
“I enjoyed the day, nice to meet all the EMM lot and fun doing most of the zombie film tropes.”
“Venue was good, the introduction given and time to learn was fab, control was friendly, players were nice and all components were nice.”
“Great theme, rules were simple enough yet still varied and my team were fab!!”
